Key points of sleep and settling

Establish a routine that fits into your family life and that works for YOU!

Decide if you are swaddling, using a sleeping bag or nothing & stick to this method day & night

Decide on a settling strategy that works WITH your baby, that you are comfortable with and that you can follow through from beginning to end.

It is not only your baby’s sleep associations that need to be address; it is also the parent’s habits and associations too!).

Remember that repetition and consistency is the key to good sleep and settling.

It will not happen overnight.

The aim is that you support your baby as much as required but to allow them to actually put themselves to sleep.

Babies are unpredictable and like adults, have good and bad days. No baby is perfect. Babies under 6 months are even more unpredictable.

Don’t overthink it …. Basically: you are aiming to reduce your assistance to sleep over time.

At the end of the day if things are working well for you and your family – Then let it be. If it is not broken then it doesn’t need fixing
