Expressing Tips

Let me break this picture down… little pumping tips from P2B

✔️ A simple crop top with small slits for the pump flanges — an easy hands-free option and often a more affordable alternative to store-bought pumping bras.

✔️ A sock over each bottle. Yes, really! Covering the bottles can help reduce anxiety around “how much am I expressing?” — and trust me, it can make a big difference to how relaxed you feel.

✔️ Playing with the let-down function on your pump. Babies don’t feed with one steady rhythm — they suck fast, slow and pause. Changing the pump settings every few minutes can help mimic this natural pattern and support your let-down.

✔️ A cup of tea (just out of frame) and deep breathing. Taking a moment to slow down, relax and treat pumping as a little pocket of downtime can also help your body respond more easily.

Sometimes it’s the simple, practical tweaks that make expressing feel a little more manageable
